The Trefoil Guild

The Trefoil Guild, is a branch of Girlguiding where women and men aged18+ can make new friends, travel, explore, serve their communities and help Guiding (and Scouting) thrive across the UK!

A Guild is a group of 6 or more people who are linked with a district, division or county.

Sale Trefoil Guild is another branch of the Guiding community providing Guiding for adults in the Sale Division. If you are aged 18 or over you are very welcome to join us. Our members live mainly in the Sale Division but we do have some members who have joined from another Division where there is no Trefoil Guild. The majority of our members have been involved in Guiding (and Scouting) and some still do help to run Units BUT you do not have to have been a member of Guiding or Scouting to join.

Locally we provide help (where needed) to Brownies, Guide or Rainbow units in the Division. We may visit units to help out with activities such as badge testing, working with interest badges or camping skills. We assist with many events such as the Carol Services, St George's day parades, Gang Show and money-raising events. We attend community events such as Remembrance Day and contribute to many local charity events and the Christmas Tree service.

We support Girlguiding worldwide with some of our members participating in visits to different parts of the world. We also give monetary assistance to guides or senior members who have been lucky enough to have been selected for overseas trips.

But it's not all about helping others we also encourage our members to try and learn about a variety of interests and take on new personal challenges. Personal challenges are encouraged through Trefoil Guild UK with the Discovery Awards and the Voyage Awards. These awards can be worked for as individuals or in small groups.

Our programme is really varied with the committee meeting once a year to plan the events(take a look at our Programme). We have different speakers talking to us about subjects such as the Mitford sisters, Mountain Rescue and Dunham Hall. We also hold craft evenings, games nights and parties. Plus we have trips out to local places of interest with visits to a local pub for lunch being very popular.

We meet every fourth Tuesday of the month at Sale Methodist Church Hall, 7.30-9.30pm
